Pearl is a unique and an indifferent gemstone. You can gift pearl rings to somebody who is very close to you. You can give it to your daughter on her 15th birthday or gift it to your wife on your 1st marriage anniversary, or you can have got one done for yourself. But, if you decide to gift a ring to anybody, the first problem arises is about the size.

Firstly, the very easy method is to get the size of the finger determined by the jeweler itself, if at all it is possible. But, sometimes, this may not be possible then you can follow the given instructions to measure the ring sizes:

Take a piece of narrow strip of paper or a string and wrap it around the base of the finger. Mark the point where the string is found overlapping towards the other end. Then use a ruler to measure the string’s length from the starting point upto the marked area. This measurement can be used in finding the appropriate size of your ring.

It is always better to measure the size of the finger by the ends of the day because at this time the finger is at its largest. Do not take the measurements when the finger is cold. As this is make the finger unusually smaller in size. It is important to keep in your mind the fact that the size of the finger keeps changing throughout the day.

If you want to present the ring as a surprise gift, then you can take the ring of the person unknowingly and press it into a piece of soap, clay or any other malleable substance. You can also mark the interior of the ring with a pen on a paper and give it all to the jeweler to find out the exact size.
