Long pearl necklace

Pearl jewelry has been a timeless addition to jewelry collections for centuries. A pearl necklace can be an ideal gift for any special occasion such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, or Valentine’s Day.  It still is considerably popular to this day.

Pearl necklace is designed with various types of pearls such rice pearls, biwa pearls, coin pearls, or button pearls. They may vary in colors, size and types. They come in various shapes such as pear, tear drop, coin, potato, and irregular Baroque.

Selection of the right length of pearl necklace generally depends on the wearer’s neck size. Usually, long pearl necklace tends to give the longer appearance to the short neck while shorter length necklaces are suitable for the longer necks. There are different types of pearl necklaces such as collar, choker, princess, matinee, opera, and rope. The collar pearl necklace is 10″-13″ in length and it is suitable for formal or casual wear. The length of the choker is about 16-18″ which are worn around the base of the neck. It is ideal for those with thin and long necks.

There are various types of long pearl necklaces that are 17-20″ in length. Most pearl necklaces are 20-25″ in length and are suitable for those with high necklines. Some necklaces are approximately 27-36″ and dropping to the waist. These are ideal for the high neckline or it can be turned into a double strand to form a choker.
