The first step is to gather your supplies. You will need:
1. Predrilled freshwater pearls. These can be of any shape, size and color; this is a great opportunity to experiment with different types of pearls. You can also include various types of beads for even more fun.
2. Needle and string thread for stringing. The thread should be fine enough for two strands or more to fit through the drilled holes in the pearls and beads.
3. Pearl clasp. Either 925 pure sterling silver or 14 carat gold are the most favored choices.
Lay out one row of pearls, beads and any other items you wish to string, like charms or small drilled stones. For an extra chunky bracelet, set out extra pearls next to one of the rows to be worked in at intervals and add to the chunkiness of your finished bracelet. Cut two strands of stretchy cord(thread) about twice as long as what is needed for the bracelet. Then you need to get them length threaded.
Fasten one side of thread, and place a clasp on the strand of the other side. And put a knot in one end of a strand. Wrap it around your wrist with just a bit of slack and make a mark to indicate length.
Starting with the knotted strand, thread your row of pearls / beads / trinkets on until the correct length is reached (as indicated by the mark you just made). Hand knotted between each pearls to keep the them from sliding off. Please make sure leave two pieces of pearls on the end.
Cut the knot you first made, remove out extra two pearls and re-thread them on to needle. Run the needle to the jump ring of the clasp, string it back with the two pearls.
When you reach the end, by moving the needle in between two pieces of pearls, and put a knot to secure. Stretch the cord lightly buy pulling on the ends of the strands, and tighten the crimps with pliers. Trim the ends of the cord, and let the bracelet snap back to its correct dimensions. Your chunky freshwater pearl bracelet is complete!
